Please note that I am not able to offer audio transcriptions from tape.
How much does the audio transcription service cost?
As I do not outsource any of my work, I am able to charge the customer considerably less than those transcription companies who do outsource. The audio transcription service costs from 80p* per recorded minute for general documentation and one to one interviews and from £1.05p* per audio minute for focus groups, meetings and conferences. I do not charge VAT.
Costs are based on audio file quality, number of speakers, specialism and whether a verbatim or intelligent verbatim transcription is required. The price includes transcription into a Word document, spell checking for accuracy and internet research to find correct spellings of names, places and technical terms where possible. A proof reading service, checked against the original audio recording, is available for an additional cost.
Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for a written quotation, stating clearly what is to be transcribed (i.e. letter, report, conference, meeting notes, one to one interview, meeting featuring multiple speakers). In some cases I would need to receive the file beforehand so that dictation quality can be checked.
Turnaround times are dependent upon workload and quality of dictation, but once a deadline has been agreed, you can be confident that your work will be returned within that timeframe.

Work is returned to you via email in the form of a Microsoft Word document.

On completion of work, you will be sent an electronic invoice. Payment terms are within 14 days of invoice date - bank transfer and personal cheques are accepted.
